Cichorium intybus
Perennial perennial with many attractive blue flowers, used as a medicinal plant to strengthen the stomach.
The plants love a sunny location and flower in the second year in the morning from June to October. The roots used to be made into "muckefuck" as a coffee substitute (cut the root into small pieces, dry in the oven on medium heat, roast in a pan, then grind into powder and brew). The leaves can be dried and prepared as tea (2 g/ cup, steep for 5-10 minutes). The leaves of this wild relative of chicory can also be used in wild herb salads.
